HUDSON PRIDE FOUNDATION TO OFFER TWO NEW SUPPORT GROUPS MEN’S GROUP AND WOMEN’S GROUPS TO BEGIN IN MARCH 2012
Hudson, NY, January 24, 2012 – The Hudson Pride Foundation is proud to announce the creation of two new support and discussion groups. Beginning in March, a Men’s Group and a Women’s Group will be offered to the LGBT community in the Hudson Valley.
Beginning Sunday, March 11 and continuing the second Sunday of every month, an open support group for men will be led by Chris St. Germain, PhD. All who identify as male, regardless of age are welcome. This group will be held at the Hudson Pride Foundation space at 603 Warren St. 2nd floor, Hudson, NY 12534 from 2 – 3:30 pm.
Beginning Sunday, March 18 and continuing the third Sunday of every month, an open support group for women will be led by Jamie Trachtenberg, LMSW. All who identify as female, regardless of age are welcome. This group will be held at the Hudson Pride Foundation space at 603 Warren St. Hudson, NY 12534 from 1 – 2:30 pm.
"We are ready to expand our reach to the LGBT community in and around Columbia County by offering these two new suppor groups.", said HPF Executive Director, Martha Harvey. "We are so very fortunate that both Chris St. Germain and Jamie Trachtenberg have agreed to lead these groups. Their involvement is sure to make these groups an invaluable resource for the LGBT community."
Both groups are free of charge. Registration is not required.
About Mr. Chris St. Germain:
Chris St. Germain Ph.D. is a psychological counselor at the Vassar College Counseling Service. A graduate with Honors in Psychology from George Mason University, Dr. St. Germain went on to receive a master’s and doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University in San Francisco. Prior to joining the Vassar Counseling Service staff, Dr. St. Germain’s clinical placements included a community mental health clinic providing services to LGBTQIA persons, couples, and families with major mental health concerns, a residential treatment facility for juvenile offenders, and multiple clinical rotations at the San Francisco VA Medical Center. Dr. St. Germain provided individual, group, couples, and family therapy and psychological assessments.
