On June 19th, Hudson NY and the Hudson Pride Foundation hosted its very first Family Pride Day
Despite having but only 8 weeks to create a street festival honoring all types of families, the community
embraced it with open arms and the event was a total success.
Etsy, the online handmade marketplace, was Family Pride’s grand sponsor and also created an open art market on the street featuring local artists and their handmade goods.
Vendors from around the region brought local goods, crafts and foods such as Red Barn’s pickles and pies.
Another huge part of Family Pride 2011 was Chalkfest. An entire block of Warren Street was outlined in 8 x8 squares giving a blank canvas for anyone’s imagination. Children and adults signed up and instantly our street was transformed into a sea of rainbow colors.
At the bottom of Warren Street was the bouncy houses, dunk tank and free carnival games and food for kids. Our main stage sat at the top of stairs at Promenade Park and featured Grammy Nominated artist Uncle Rock, and wildly popular childrens folk singer. Local Hip Hop artist Sean Delaney also took the stage showcasing his original music. Hoola-hoopers, bubble machines, and Bindlestiff’s Wild West Show are just a few of the colorful highlights of this years Family Pride.
The Hudson Pride Foundation is extremely excited to continue Family Pride Day for the 2012 season and look forward to another successful community family day.

The Hudson Pride Boat cruise sold over 100 tickets per cruise!
The beautiful Dutch Apple Cruise Lines floated down from Albany and docked on the Hudson Waterfront. Participants from New York City, Poughkeepsie, the Capital District descended upon the City of Hudson.
DJ Lisa spun '80s music during the Sunset Cruise. People gathered, had a glass of wine, and watched the sunset. It was a pleasant reminder of the beautiful, scenic Hudson Valley in which we live.
The Moonlight Cruise, with DJ Gio was a fun, hip and wild dance party! We danced under the stars, listening to the music bouncing off the water.
On both cruises, the Charmed and Dangerous performers sang, stripped, and dazzled the audience with wigs, glitter, and buckets of feathers!!
The Boat Cruises ended with the crowd converging on pm, the wine bar, on Warren Street. The revelry lasted long into the night. We woke up the next morning to get ready for the parade to start at noon.
On the second floor of Club Helsinki, the Hudson Pride Foundation holds its annual dance party.
In 2011, we were fortunate to have Hudson's own, world-renowned DJ Tedd Patterson.

Tedd Patterson's mix of music, in the amazing space of Club Hudson, is a beautiful gift of happiness and fun, that Tedd gives to our community.
"To be gay in the original sense of the word and the current one as well is one of the toughest things in the world to pull off, at least on a communal scale. But Trixie Starr and the folks of Hudson Pride (with the help of Helsinki Hudson for its wondrous over-10 hour shindig after the parade) did it —on land and sea and for over two days. They should all be running the Columbia County Tourism bureau, if not the entire Chamber of Commerce —or the Summer Olympics as far I’m concerned." –Scott Baldinger
